Renzi: "Bersani is seeking an agreement with the PDL, I want the elections"

The suspicion of the Renzians is that any agreement between the secretary of the Democratic Party and Berlusconi would be played out on a fair exchange between the Quirinale and Palazzo Chigi: a person not unwelcome to the center-right (Luciano Violante?) would go to Colle, so as to reassure the Knight on the front judiciary, while Bersani would finally be allowed to appear in the Chamber

Renzi: "Bersani is seeking an agreement with the PDL, I want the elections"

“Between ourselves, if we really have to talk about an alliance with the PDL, Berlusconi trusts Bersani or D'Alema much more than the newcomers to the Pd. They've known each other for some time and, even on different positions, it's easier for them to find an agreement”. Matteo Renzi said it today on the microphones of Radio 105, thus denying the rumors of his negotiation with Berlusconi. Controversy that arose after the either-or that arrived yesterday from the mayor of Florence (either the government immediately, or the elections), accused by the Bersanians of perfectly following the positions of the Cavaliere.

“I'm just saying that Bersani tried to make an agreement with Grillo and Grillo said no – continued Renzi -. Now, either Bersani will be able to split the 5 Stars or he will make an agreement with the PDL. They are talking to each other: Migliavacca (Bersani's right-hand man, ed) has spoken several times with Verdini (one of Berlusconi's closest collaborators, ed). I personally would like to go and vote, but since what I think is not important, but what the Italians think, something must be done. I enter the companies, I see the layoffs, the situation. They do what they like, but do something. I would go to vote, but what I think is not important".

The suspicion of the Renzians is that any agreement between the secretary of the Democratic Party and Berlusconi would be played out on a fair exchange between the Quirinale and Palazzo Chigi: a person not unwelcome to the center-right (Luciano Violante?) would go to Colle, so as to reassure the Knight on the front judiciary, while Bersani would finally be allowed to appear in the Chamber and ask for trust. Even if the attempt fails, the leader of the Democratic Party could personally lead the country to the elections, in an (unlikely) attempt to obtain an automatic re-nomination for the leadership of the center-left and thus avoid the insidious primaries against Renzi. On the other hand, it seems that even Berlusconi - after reading a poll that would give him about 10 points behind the mayor of Florence - has changed his mind on the opportunity to return immediately to the polls.

In fact, according to a survey carried out by SWG exclusively for "Agorà" (Rai Tre), a Pd led by Renzi could reach 36% of the votes, with a clear advantage over the center-right (28%), Movimento 5 Stelle (26%). and also on a re-edition of the Bersanian Pd (28%), which in turn would be at a disadvantage on the center-right (31%) and practically on a par with the grillini (27%).

In short, tension within the Democratic Party continues to rise and rumors of a split begin to circulate with some insistence. However, Renzi maintains that he does not even consider the hypothesis of creating a new force, because “going out and forming a party makes no sense. There are already too many parties”.
