Renzi, broadband: "let's go"

Today's Council of Ministers will analyze the ban on ultra-broadband. There are two objectives: 30 megabytes of connection to all Italians and 100 mb to the "luckiest" realities. – Renzi: "we need to go at one hundred per hour"

Renzi, broadband: "let's go"

Broadband is "a fundamental part of the country's economic development". This was stated by Matteo Renzi during the usual #Matteorisponde appointment during which a promise also arrived from Riccardo Luna, alongside the Premier during the chat: "by 2020 all Italians will have at least 30 megabytes of connection".

The Council of Ministers which will begin shortly will deal with the tender relating to ultra-broadband. “It will be at the CDM today, even if there is no need for this formal passage. We'll start with broadband: the state puts in the money, billions of euros. After a lot of talk, we leave”. Renzi said in video connection with the Pisa Internet Day.

“There are zones A, B, C and D. – explained the Premier – In zones A and B there is no need for public money and private operators can bring broadband in competition with each other. Zones C and D are those, I use legal jargon, a little more unlucky". In addition to the 30 megabytes, the aim is to give the Municipalities “a minimum level of broadband but to bring many realities to ultra-broadband with 100 megabytes: 'going at a hundred per hour', one might say. This allows you to stay in another world, go in another direction,” he points out.
