Renzi to the EU: "Italy is back, if they come to terms with it"

"If they come to terms with it: Italy is back, more solid and ambitious". Less than 24 hours from new EU-Italy skirmish, Matteo Renzi writes on Facebook and refers to the meeting held at Palazzo Chigi with the top management of Cisco regarding "strategic investments" in Italy. The premier underlines that this is "the best answer to those who, perhaps frightened by this new Italian protagonism, would prefer to have us weaker and more marginal, as unfortunately has often happened in the past". There is the awareness that "we are giving it our all and that the big international companies, as Cisco testifies today, are once again betting on us".

“Italy – writes Renzi – is increasingly open and attractive for international investments. With large global companies that no longer hit and run as in the past, but have decided to bet on our country, to bet on its future. Like Cisco, whose top management I met this morning at Palazzo Chigi, on the occasion of the announcement of a series of strategic investments here worth 100 million euros for the next three years”.

"It is the first of the two giants - adds the premier - which I mentioned in my last Enews that look at Italy as a solid country, which has a future and which, finally, favors those who want to create opportunities destined to stop, to create businesses , work, innovation. it is important that this happens in terms of digitalisation, training, the creation of innovative start-ups and research. But also of the digital transformation of sectors of excellence of our economy such as manufacturing and agri-food, both symbols of Made in Italy and of our quality in the world".
