Hundreds of armchairs are about to jump. THE regional councilors from all over Italy are warned: very soon their seats will be cut, although it is not yet known exactly how much. There is talk of a reduction that travels from a minimum of 290 to a maximum of 600 units.
But that's not all: the councilors will also have to adapt to one pension calculated with the contributory method, much less profitable than the previous salary system. On closer inspection, this is not a punishment for the scandals that broke out in the regional councils of half of Italy, but simply of a privilege that is taken away from the caste of local politics. Already since last winter, with the Fornero reform, ordinary mortals who retire in our country do so with the not very generous contribution.
These two measures are probably the most eagerly awaited among those included in the new decree for cutting the costs of politics, which will arrive on the table of the Council of Ministers on Thursday. The Regions that do not respect the new rules – indicated by the governors themselves – will be sanctioned.
Among the various measures, the certification of the Court of Auditors on the budgets of the parties. Other chapters will cover the allowance, which will be cut, and the mandatory certification for whoever was elected as for the regional groups as a whole. Enough, then, with the certifications. Not trusting is better.
