Referendum: the Yes wins, but a clear comeback of the No

Al constitutional referendum on the cut of parliamentarians won the Yes. The partial results of the count already give an unequivocal picture, beyond any possible margin of error: Yes reached 69,3%, while No stood at 30,7% when results in 56.657 sections out of a total of 61.622 were examined. A net result, but not a plebiscitary one or a Bulgarian one, as had also been expected for several months before the consultation.

For the turnout, according to the latest numbers provided by the Interior Ministry went to the polls the 53,84% of those entitled to vote. The figure is definitive and takes into account the data provided by 7.903 Municipalities out of 7.903. Summing up, a participation of more than 50% still goes beyond expectations, especially considering the fears related to possible infections from Covid-19 which in recent days had caused a flood of defections by tellers and section heads.
