Referendum: voting takes place on December 4th

The Council of Ministers, which met this afternoon and is currently underway, decided the date of the constitutional referendum. The Italians will be called to the polls on Sunday 4 December, the last day available according to the deadline established by law. The chosen day is the one proposed by Prime Minister Renzi, on which the government has given its go-ahead.

The supporters of the YES and those of the No will therefore have 70 days available to try to convince the voters, bringing them "to their side".

The constitutional referendum will be held on the same day as the Austrian presidential election. December 4 will therefore be a key day for the future of Europe.

Many changes required by law: from the end of perfect bicameralism, with the reduction of the number of parliamentarians and the powers entrusted to the Senate of the Republic, to the abolition of the Cnel, passing through the method of electing the Head of State, the changes regarding Title V of the Constitution and the new quorum for the abrogative referendum.
