Referendum, Pisapia more Yes than No

The former mayor of Milan takes a position in favor of the constitutional reform. “I don't think – he says – that with a No victory we would have a year of truce in which it will be possible to reorganize the country. Instead, I see an even more divided and paralyzed Parliament, a period of political instability that would not do the country any good".

Referendum, Pisapia more Yes than No

In the end Giuliano Pisapia makes it clear that, in the constitutional referendum, he will vote Yes. He does so with an interview with Repubblica on Friday, after having resisted for a long time to those, journalists or politicians, who asked him to reveal what his orientation would be for the vote of the December 4th.

“After 4 comes 5. And I don't think that, in case of victory of the No in the referendum, we would have a year of truce in which it will be possible to work to reorganize the country, instead I see a Parliament that is even more divided, paralyzed and a period of political instability that would not be good for the country, for its credibility at an international level and which would also have negative repercussions at an economic and social level”, affirms the former mayor of Milan.

When asked whether the election of Donald Trump could have an effect on the choice of vote of Italians in the referendum, "hardly those who are convinced of voting yes or no will change their mind by looking at America, especially if yes or no - is the reasoning di Pisapia – are determined not by the constitutional law, but by the will to form the Government”. “But the undecided – added the former mayor of Milan – are still many and I am convinced that most will decide on the basis of knowledge of the content of the constitutional reform. And then there will also be those who will choose taking into account the steps forward, in part already made, on the electoral law, seriously committing themselves to eliminating that "combined arrangement" which, albeit indirectly, also affects some issues of the reform".
