Citizenship income: from 15 April the answers, from 20 the papers

Citizenship income enters the key phase. From today, April 15, INPS will communicate to Poste Italiane how many applications have been accepted and how much money to credit on individual Rdc cards. At the end of the month, the beneficiaries will receive the first citizenship income credits.

One month before the European elections, the 5 Star Movement seems to have managed to meet the deadlines established for its flag measure. Not without some "somersaults" by the INPS which in recent weeks has been working as hard as it can on basic income and the 100 quota to try to comply with the deadlines imposed by the Government to the detriment of the "normal services" which inevitably they ended up in the queue.

The day of the debut is therefore near.

CITIZENSHIP INCOME: INPS ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS

Starting from 15 April, INPS will let Poste Italiane know the precise number of applications received and accepted and the sums to be credited to the individual electronic cards which will allow the beneficiaries to take advantage of the basic income.

Between March and April, about 800 applications were presented, less than the number expected by the Government. Also take into consideration that three out of four applications were rejected. According to the first data to be rejected were above all those sent through post offices and the online site created by the Government. Almost all accepted instead those presented through Caf. The reason is soon to be said. The latter, before being sent to the INPS, are subjected to preventive checks by the technicians of the tax assistance centers and therefore have a better chance of containing all the necessary requirements.

It seems probable at this point that the resources allocated will exceed the amount that will actually be disbursed. What will the government do with the extra money? This was announced on April 12 by the Minister of Labor and Deputy Prime Minister, Luigi Di Maio, who announced that the excess money will be redistributed to families with children who will therefore be able to count on a few more euros.

CITIZENSHIP INCOME: THREE OUT OF FOUR APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED

In an interview with Corriere della Sera, the new INPS number, Pasquale Tridico provided more precise figures.

“As of April 12, around 640 applications had been processed, all processed in central management: a great performance. The acceptance rate is 75%. So there are already 480 RDC cards that will be loaded between 20 and 25 April and distributed to the post office, to which will be added the other cards that will result from the almost 200 applications that we will examine in these days ".

As regards the amounts, Tridico clarified that theThe average amount paid to each family will be 520 euros per month, for a maximum amount of 1380 euros per month.

CITIZENSHIP INCOME: DRC CARDS COMING SOON

As mentioned, three out of four applications have therefore been accepted, while from Saturday 20 April to Thursday 25 April the National Social Security Institute will inform INPS how many cards to distribute, to whom and with how much money.

Once done, it will be up to the Ministry of Labor to let the beneficiaries know where and when to go to collect the papers which, presumably, will arrive in the hands of those entitled to them at the end of April or the beginning of May. We are talking about those who submitted their applications in March, while those who submitted their application in April will receive the money between the end of May and the beginning of June, and so on.

CITIZENSHIP INCOME: EXPENSES TO MAKE WITH CARDS

Each family will receive only one card. On them there will be no name of the holder, in order to respect the privacy of the beneficiaries.

We remember that precise rules have been established for expenses. Each month it will be possible to withdraw a maximum of 100 euros in cash for singles. The figure will increase according to the number of family members (according to the equivalence scale). With the Card Rdc it will be possible to purchase basic goods and services (food or medicines, for example), it will be possible to make a monthly transfer to pay the rent or the mortgage.

The beneficiaries of the basic income will have access to the concessions on electricity and gas tariffs recognized to economically disadvantaged families.

Finally, it should be taken into consideration that, if by the end of the month the family has not withdrawn or spent all the money received, the remaining amount will be subtracted in the following month's paymentwithin the limits of 20% of the benefit paid. Exceptions are amounts received as arrears.

Furthermore, according to what can be read on the citizen's income website, "the reduction from the Charter is envisaged of the total amounts not spent or not withdrawn in the previous six months, with the exception of one month's salary".
