Recordati is doing great: +5,3% net profit in the first half

The Italian pharmaceutical group announces the (decidedly positive) results for the January-June 2011 period – Revenues up 6,6%, shareholders' equity rises to 584 million – Expectations for the entire year have been revised upwards.

Recordati closes the first half of the year with very positive results. Revenues rose by 6,6% to 401 million euros. Net profit is equal to 62,4 million euro, up by 5,3% compared to the same period of the previous year. Operating profit amounted to 88,2 million euro, up by 5,2%. The net financial position is positive for 27,8 million, down by 18,2 million on December 2010. Selling expenses are up by 10,4%, above all to support the launch of new products. Shareholders' equity increased further and amounted to 584,6 million euro.

“The first half of 2011 was positive for the development of the Group both for the good economic results obtained and for the conclusion of important initiatives undertaken” declared Giovanni Recordati, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “The results obtained in the first half allow us to improve our expectations for the full year 2011 in which we expect revenues of over 750 million euros, an operating profit of over 160 million and a net profit of over 110 million”.
