RCS, Proto will ask Consob for damages

Alessandro Proto declares himself calm about his actions in relation to the RCS affair, believing that he has complied with all legal obligations and announces that he will seek damages from Consob for the note released yesterday by the supervisory authority. This is what we read in a statement released this morning by Alessandro Proto, chairman of a shareholders' agreement signed on 2,77% of RCS by four foreign subjects.

Yesterday Consob communicated in a note that Proto did not comply within the prescribed times with the request to provide the market with some information on the RCS agreement, adding that therefore there are no elements capable of certifying its truthfulness. “On our part, there are no reasons why Consob issued those statements other than motivating them with the fact that it concerns RCS. We are calm and sure about our work having complied with all the requests we had to comply with in terms of the law and we will ask the supervisory authority for damages for what happened”, reads Proto's note.

“The Proto Organization is the guarantor of a pact between 4 people to which a fifth will probably be added. There is no denial as erroneously written and misinterpreted,” the note continues. “We are not interested and we do not need the opinion of Consob to move forward on RCS. Which we will. As regards the alleged file opened by the Milan prosecutor's office which has been talked about for months, we have not received any notice of guarantee, no search or anything else. Not even the visit of a municipal messenger. Consob would do well to verify other situations that have occurred and are occurring with other subjects”, concludes the press release.
