"Naturally I am not entitled to comment on questions and proposals left to the free determination of economic and entrepreneurial subjects and to the judgment of the market". This was stated in a note by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, in response to the letter sent to the Quirinale by Diego Della Valle on the RCS issue.
"I read Doctor Diego Della Valle's appeal published this morning in the press - added the head of state - and I understood the declared intention of operating in the general interest of a free and correct evolution of the world of the press and of the information".
Napolitano underlines that it is his "daily commitment to call all the representative forces of the country to the maximum effort of foresight and cohesion in this delicate phase of national life".
