The TPL reform contained in the Destinazione Italia law decree does not satisfy Ania. The National Association of Insurance Companies, in a note, expresses its perplexity on the measure introduced which imposes minimum discounts on the Rc Auto prices. Ania's proposal is to reduce tariff prices by reducing the cost of claims.
The fundamental measure would be the approval of the single table for compensation for serious physical damage and provisions aimed at strengthening the action to combat fraud, so as to bring the cost of motor liability insurance in Italy closer to the level of other European countries .
“We naturally await – declared the president of the association Aldo Minucci – to know the details of the approved decree. If the introduction of tax measures relating to the obligation to offer products or predefined discounts in such a way as to infringe the European principle of tariff freedom were verified, these measures would meet with our opposition and, moreover, would not be able to achieve the objectives of the Government, shared by us, to reduce the costs of motor liability insurance and the prices paid by policyholders”.
