The rediscovery of Italy by foreign investors speaks in numbers. According to the traditional Kpmg report, in 2015 there were 506 merger and acquisition operations carried out on the Italian market and the protagonists were above all foreign investors.

In total, the value of mergers and acquisitions recorded during the year exceeds the fateful threshold of 50 billion euros and is exactly equal to 50,1 billion, even if the total number of transactions is slightly lower than in 2014 (543).

Big deals are growing, together with the value of the transactions: as many as 13 were the transactions that exceeded one billion euros in value. More than half (55%) of mergers or acquisitions were made by foreign investors.
