The appointment is at the Norman Swabian Castle of Sannicandro di Bari: on 15 June: the Exhibition of wines and oils of Southern Italy reopens its doors to the public.
The event will be the final moment of the XVI edition of the Radici del Sud event (10-15 June), where over 150 companies will present their range of products. For the first time there will also be producers from Sardinia, Abruzzo and Molise, together with those from Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania and Sicily already present in previous editions.
“We are immensely happy to start again – comments Nicola Campanile, organizer of the event – and to finally be able to confirm this edition of Radici del Sud. The Norman Swabian Castle of Sannicandro di Bari has undergone a careful restoration in recent months and today is the perfect location to hold events safely while maintaining anti-Covid social distances, thanks to the large spaces it is equipped with. Here the producers of the cellars and mills will talk firsthand about their work and the territory. I hope it will be an opportunity for many people to discover something more about these wonderful regions and their traditions”.
The two days of the Competition, in which over 350 wines from all over Southern Italy will be tested, will be reserved for journalists, influencers and wine experts, divided into two juries, one national and one international, led by 4 Italian presidents: Andrea Terraneo ( President Vinarius), Francesco Muci (Slow Wine), Luciano Pignataro (Lucianopignatarowineblog) and Maurizio Valeriani (Vinodabere) who will highlight the most identifying characteristics of the native vines. In the same days, meetings between wine producers and importers from Europe and, above all, from the United States, who can arrive in Italy without quarantine, will be held in the completely renovated Scuderie hall.
The conference for the announcement of the winners of the Competition will be on Tuesday 15 June at 11.00 in the courtyard of the Castle, in the presence of the Presidents of the Jury and all the national and international guests.
