Quomi: success for the 2nd investment round

The startup founded in 2015 by Andrea Bruno and Daniele Bruttini (both ex Zalando) is already an established reality in the field of Italian digital food

Quomi, the startup that was the first to introduce meal kits in Italy for preparing dinners at home, has successfully closed its second investment round for an amount of 600.000 euros.

After 250.000 euros raised in the first 18 months of life, which also saw the listed startup incubator Digital Magics among the protagonists, a group of important private investors for the Italian market joins the Quomi family.

The business model, that of meal kits, is already fully validated and spread globally – we are talking about a 5 billion dollar market in 2017 that is growing continuously – with players such as Blue Apron in the United States (listed on the NYSE) and Hello Fresh in Germany which already exceed one billion in turnover.

Confirming the positive trend, Quomi immediately attracted the attention of the major Italian food brands and beyond - Barilla, Perugina, Delicius and Caffè Vergnano have already collaborated with the startup - and continues to be talked about with new partnerships and innovative products arriving by 2018.

“Our path so far has been oriented towards testing the market and the service, to understand which problem of our customers we are solving - says Daniele Bruttini - Today, we are aware that we have built a solid and scalable value chain with first-level suppliers for a small company like ours. With this capital increase, we were able to complete the team with key figures and we are aiming for growth on the Italian market thanks to greater resources for targeted marketing and communication activities."

"Continuous improvement and attention to every detail of the service always remain two of our priorities" - says Andrea Bruno "This customer-centric approach permeates all Quomi's activities, and is also possible thanks to the synergies built with partners and , more generally, with the network of high quality suppliers chosen throughout the Italian territory”.

"We continue to support Andrea and Daniele for the technological and commercial development of the platform - says Gabriele Ronchini, Founder and CEO of Digital Magics for Portfolio Development - and the entry of the new partners represents a confirmation for the value and innovation of the business. Quomi is one of our 12 most promising startups, which we presented at the 'Lugano IR Top Investor Day'”.
