Quater scrapping, a new extension arrives: the deadline for the fifth installment is postponed to September 15th

Same story, new extension: the deadline of fifth installment of scrapping quat was postponed from the 31 July to the 15 September 2024. Furthermore, thanks to the 5-day grace period granted, it is possible to make the payment until September 20th without incurring penalties or surcharges. This postponement also guarantees that there will be no loss of the benefits of the subsidized definition, thus ensuring greater flexibility for those who are following the repayment plan.

The extension, yet another, was established by the recent legislative decree approved by the Council of Ministers on 26 July 2024, which introduces changes and additions regarding tax obligations and biennial composition with creditors. In particular, article 6 of the decree clearly establishes the new deadline for payment of the instalment, ensuring an adequate margin of time for all taxpayers involved. The decree will be published in the Official Gazette in the next few days, making the extension is official without the need for further regulatory interventions via legislative decree.

Scrapping quater: who does the postponement concern?

The extension concerns debtors who have joined the quater scrappage, an initiative that allows you to pay off tax and social security debts by paying only the sums due as capital and procedural costs, excluding penalties and interest. This measure is applicable to debts entrusted to the Collection Agent between 1 January 2000 and 30 June 2022.

The deadline calendar

The scrapping plan provides for the payment of sums in a maximum of 18 installments spread over 5 years. The first two installments expired in 2023, while the subsequent ones were set for February 28, May 31 and July 31. The July installment is therefore the fifth of the plan. The new deadline for the fifth installment is now set at September 15th, with the possibility of using the grace period until September 20th.

In case of non-payment or partial payments, the benefits of scrapping will be canceled and the payments made will be considered as advances on the overall debts.

Payment options

To carry out the payment, you can consult the Notice of sums due in your reserved area on the Collection Agency website, or request a copy by filling out the dedicated form and attaching the identification documents. Payments can be made via the "Pay online" service on the Agency's website, or via the electronic channels of banks, Poste Italiane and other participating operators. It is also possible to request direct debit or use the payment forms attached to the Communication at banks, post offices, betting shops and tobacconists.
