Putin: "Russia shouldn't cut itself off from the world, let's not sever ties with our partners"

"We must work on the development of our country calmly, with dignity, without cutting it off from the rest of the world, without breaking ties with our partners, but without allowing people to behave disdainfully towards us". Russian President Vladimir Putin said this in Yalta on the Ukrainian Crimea peninsula annexed in March.

The words of the Kremlin's number one sound like a call for détente with the West at a time when international relations are going through the most difficult phase since the end of the cold war. The stock markets appreciated, turning into positive territory (including Piazza Affari).
