Putin calls Tsipras: "Support for the Greek people"

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone today with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, expressing his "support for the Greek people" for the "difficulties to overcome". The Kremlin communicated this in the early afternoon, specifying that the two leaders discussed theoutcome of the referendum and of "further developments in cooperation" between the two countries.

Yuri Ushakov, Putin's presidential assistant, later said that Tsipras assured the Russian president that "negotiations with international creditors", namely the European Union, the ECB and the IMF, will continue.
