Putin sinks Saipem, China the luxury

The early morning bounce in Business Square he was short of breath. From 12 the market entered negative territory: Ftse Mib index -0,18% at 19651 to then remain slightly active. Modest variations also for the other European markets: Frankfurt also down -0,23%. Paris +0,06%, Madrid +0,15%. Strong rebound in London +1%. The euro/dollar exchange rate is little moved at 1,243. The BTP remains stable with the yield at 2,0%.

Oil stocks are back down together with crude oil prices. Brent is down again to 71,9 dollars a barrel (-0,8%), after last night's recovery. Eni, game up, down 0,1%. Tenaris remains positive +1,7%.

But the latest casualty of the oil quake is Saipem -8,2%: Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the South Stream gas pipeline will not be built, Saipem had won a 2,4 billion dollar contract for the construction of the project. Banca Akros cuts the target price from 17,5 to 14 euros, Citi issues a sell.
 
Thwarted the path of banks: Unicredit +0,3%, Ubi +0,6% and Pop.Emilia +1,4%. Intesa -0,2% and Banco Popolare -0,2% are down.
Sales also prevail on the supply front utilities: Atlantia -2,1%, A2A down 1,5%, Enel -0,3%, Snam -0,6%.
Telecom Italia drops by 0,6%.

The positive note is Fiat Chrysler +1,6%, driven by the growth in sales on the Italian market. Finmeccanica +0,9%, Cnh Industrial +1,2% and Prysmian +0,6% also rose.

Clashes between police and protesters ad Hong Kong weigh on the brands most present in the former British colony, the main shopping destination for Chinese VIPs. Ferragamo drops by 3,4%, Tod's -2%. Luxottica goes up +0,9% and sets a new historical record.
