Pupo and chef Tomei: the cooking show for beginners on TV8

The new “Pupi&Fornelli” program, dedicated to those who are incapable in front of the stove, makes its debut on 21 January.

A new program on the kitchen arrives on TV8, this time dedicated to those who are totally incompetent in front of the stove. The format is called “Pupi&Fornelli”, debuts on 21 January at 18,30 pm (it will be broadcast from Monday to Friday) and is conducted by Pupo together with the Tuscan chef Cristiano Tomei, who will also be a judge.

In each episode, two pairs of relatives – parents and children, brother and sister, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, grandmother and grandson – compete over a recipe chosen by chef and judge Cristiano Tomei: typical dishes of the Italian culinary tradition that everyone has tasted at least once in life such as chicken cacciatore, carbonara or meatballs with sauce. The "mismatched" couple is always made up of a "proficient cook" and an "unskilled cook". And it is only the "weak link" of the two who tries to prepare the dish: the more expert is in fact forced to helplessly watch the competition from inside a soundproofed maxi-jar from where he can despair, scream, rant without ever being listened to by your partner in the kitchen.

To make the chef Tomei challenge even more unpredictable reveals the recipe and plating to be prepared only to less experienced competitors. Only on the occasion of the first aid – 4 in total those available – is the dish to be replicated also communicated to the other teammate. During the 4 bonuses of 30 seconds each, the relatives under glass will be able to give vocal indications directly to the "messy" cook to try to straighten out the recipe in progress. Only in the last 5 minutes of the competition, the "experts" will be able to leave the soundproofed structure, reach the "incompetent" in the kitchen and try to save the dish with their last minute intervention.

To make the race even more fun and Pupo takes care of collecting the sensations in the heat of the moment, the only one who can follow the competitors both in the kitchen and in the glassed-in location. In fact, only he can access this "off-limits" area: entering and exiting as he pleases and listening to comments and complaints. The conductor also has the task of encouraging the "incapable" not to give up despite the obvious difficulties.

At the end of the competition the two dishes are judged by chef Tomei who decrees the winning couple of the episode who will win a cash prize. Furthermore, from the sixth episode, the winning couple will be able to return to play in the next episode, up to a maximum of 5 episodes.
