Tim opened up the possibility ofinput in the new alliance among the main ones company of the telecommunications European.

Deutsche Telecom, Orange, Telefonica e Vodafone they decided to team up for to build a technological platform di digital advertising.

The goal is to create one j controllata jointly dedicated to digital advertising so as to challenge the dominance of big tech. The Joint Venture provides for the opening of the agreement, not to new partners, but to others partner groups. The proposal was delivered to the European Commission which will be responsible for assessing the feasibility in terms of competition and market concentration.

Tim would therefore be thinking of join as a partner to the project even if the company still hasn't given up on it.

Fight against the giants of Big Tech

Telecom operators want to enter the online advertising market to find new forms of revenue and profit. An industry that is dominated by Big Tech companies like Google, Microsoft e Meta.

One of the main points of the new Joint Venture is theattention to privacy. The four Telco companies want to create a large platform for advertising distribution, but swithout profiling customers and giving to them greater control e transparency about how data is shared.

In fact, the system provides for the explicit user consent through a token securely hashed or encrypted pseudonymized linked to the user's network subscription which will be provided by the network operators participating in the project. This token will allow the brand or publisher interested in to recognize a user without revealing any directly identifiable personal data and therefore of optimize the delivery of online display advertising and to perform site or app optimization. La decision of the European Commission on the Joint Venture should arrive by mid-February.
