Prysmian: 350 million contract for wind power in Germany

The Italian company has been awarded a contract worth over 350 million by Alstom Grid for the supply and laying of a cable linking an offshore converter to the mainland, supplying renewable energy to the German electricity grid.

Important order for Prysmian Group in Germany. The Italian company that operates in cables and systems for energy and telecommunications has acquired, in fact, as announced in a press release, a new contract worth over 350 million euros from Alstom Grid for a project, DolWin3, which involves the connection of offshore wind farms, located in the North Sea, to the German mainland on behalf of the Dutch and German electricity grid operator TenneT. 

Once completed, the project, which involves the supply, installation and testing of a high voltage direct current extruded insulated cable connection, will connect the platform of the Dolwin Gamma offshore converter, located about 85 km from the coast, to the mainland. The goal is to introduce energy from renewable sources into the German electricity grid.

Fabio Romeo, senior vice president of Energy Business of Prysmian Group, expressed all his satisfaction: “Confirmed our key role in the energy policies of the German government. This is the most important program for the development of renewable energies in Europe" he said, adding that Prysmian, thanks also to substantial investments "is ready to provide know-how and cutting-edge technologies to support the development of renewable energies in Germany and in the world".
