Prysmian – the world's leading Italian company in the production of cables for applications in the energy, telecommunications and optical fiber sectors – has won the auction organized by the Spanish Iberdrola for the supply of medium and low voltage cables to its distribution division for the next three years.
Iberdrola has awarded contracts for the supply to four production centers located in Spain, for an amount around 30 million euro.
According to the Spanish press, together with the Milanese company, Top Cable, General Cable and Cabelte will also participate in the order. All interested groups have their production centers in Barcelona and meet the requirements imposed by Iberdrola.
As far as Prysmian is concerned, the company's Catalan plant will supply medium voltage cables (33 kilowatts) to the British branch of Iberdrola, ScottishPower. This is a clear sign of the company's contribution to the internationalization of its suppliers' business.
