Prysmian: order worth 64 million in Türkiye

Prysmian has signed a contract worth around 64 million with the Teias utility, active in energy transmission and Entso-E electricity transmission networks. The contract covers the design, production, installation and commissioning of the second high voltage submarine cable link between Europe and Asia across the Dardanelles Strait in Turkey.

For the Italian company specializing in the production of Cavi for applications in the industrythe energy and telecommunications, this is the second order signed with Teias. The new installation will integrate the connection that Prysmian is currently implementing along the same route, as envisaged in the first contract signed with Teias in September 2012.

The objective is to complete the electricity transmission network in Turkey in such a way as to guarantee reliable and cost-effective energy flows from the generation sites located in Asia to the main consumption centers in Europe.

The news, however, was not enough to revive the Prysmian stock which, in mid-afternoon, recorded falls of around 2%, in line with the negative trend of the Italian stock market.
