Prysmian: 450 million for sustainability by 2022

Prysmian will invest 450 million euros by 2022 to improve sustainability of your organization and accelerate the development of leading-edge cable technologies, assets and services. The group made it known in a statement, underlining that the transition to renewable energy sources is "closely connected to the ability to transmit and transport energy from one place to another, from renewable energy production sites (wind farms offshore) to sites where energy is consumed (urban centres)”. The announcement was made on the occasion of the group's “Sustainability Day”.

“As a Public Company we believe that sustainability should be part of our DNA – he said Valerius the Baptist, CEO of Prysmian – We are committed to improving sustainability along the entire supply chain and throughout the organization, including through the development of cable and fiber optic solutions for electricity and telecommunications networks which are essential in facilitating the transition towards the use of renewable energy sources and a decarbonised economy”.

In the early afternoon, Prysmian stock market share gains 2,2%, to 26,56 euros, scoring one of the best increases in the Ftse Mib.
