Protom acquires the Brazilian Ambra Solutions

The operation is the result of careful scouting made possible by a SIMEST loan, thanks to which the Group was able to open a commercial office in the country. From the end 2017 the company is Elite, the program of Borsa Italiana for high-potential companies.

Protom acquires the Brazilian Ambra Solutions

Protom, a group operating in the field of Advanced Engineering and Information Technology, acquires the Brazilian company Ambra Solutions, a company active in the Aerospace and Automotive sectors, based in São José dos Campos, the technological pole and headquarters of the largest aerospace complex in the Latin America. An important investment plan supports the acquisition.

Protom, which had a turnover of 2017 million in 20, has joined the historic headquarters in Naples with the headquarters in Milan and offices in France, Toulouse, and Brazil. The company works with big players in the engineering, aeronautics, railway and automotive sectors such as Leonardo, Superjet, Piaggio Aerospace, Airbus, FCA, ATR, Hitachi Rail Italy and Rolls Royce.

Preliminary to the Protom enhancement operation was a loan from SIMEST - a company that, with SACE, represents the export and internationalization of the CDP Group - which at the beginning of 2018 allowed the company to open a commercial office in Brazil and undertake a scouting phase in a careful and efficient manner.

Therefore, the drive for growth abroad of the group chaired by Fabio De Felice, who for some months has also joined Elite, the Borsa Italiana program for high-potential companies, promoted in Italy by Confindustria, is increasingly strong. with the aim of supporting its growth path linked to innovation and internationalization.

"Brazil - explains Fabio De Felice - is a country with a very high potential, in strong recovery, after years of crisis and economic instability. In particular, the technological district of São José is a globally recognized excellence in the field of IT and Aerospace, and many highly innovative realities insist, first of all Embraer, which has its biggest production site here. Positioning here is a goal with a strong strategic value for Protom ".

"Ambra has attracted our attention - says Giuliano Di Paola, country manager of Protom in Brazil - for the compatibility of the services offered with the know-how and skills we have possessed. From this meeting a double benefit will be born: Protom will be able to get in touch with the historical customers of Ambra, very important companies in the world of transport engineering such as Embraer, Mercedes, Avibras, Safran and UTC-Goodrich; at the same time, the new and broader competences introduced by Protom will allow to widen the offer and benefit from the opportunities of a market in great recovery like the Brazilian one ".

The current business of Protom is based on two vertical techniques: Information Technology, oriented to the realization of projects, products and services with high added value in the field of Digital Transformation and Advanced Engineering, focused on Transportation Engineering.

The latter, enhanced with the acquisition of a company branch of Piaggio Aero Industries, has developed a strong orientation towards the Aerospace sector. The division is characterized by the "Integrated & Make it work" approach and the presence of high quality and unique skills, both in the field of structures and systems, expressed by the technicians and engineers of the Team, who work alongside a high capacity for team-working, experiences gained within the organizations of multiple OEMs. These characteristics have made Protom a qualified partner in all phases of the product life cycle (PLM Approach) that require engineering support, also allowing it to win seven projects under Clean Sky 2, the European program that, in the framework of the Horizon 2020 plan, aims at the design and construction of less polluting and more energy efficient aircraft.

The Company's ability to pursue its mission is based on the continuous and constant dialogue between these areas, together with decades of experience in program and project management: to be a "change manager" for its customers, capable of supplying and services that can support them in planning and implementing strategic changes.

This year Confindustria has awarded Protom the “Innovation Business Award” for having successfully invested in research and innovation. The "Enterprises for Innovation" Award participates, for the Industry and Services category, in the Award of Awards, an award established by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers on the mandate of the President of the Republic.
