Civil Protection-Invitalia: agreement for emergencies

The Civil Protection has signed a 9-year agreement with Invitalia, the national agency for investment attraction and business development. The goal is to implement new strategies for emergency management.

The agreement identifies, among the various lines of action, "the forecasting and study activities of natural and anthropic risk scenarios - reads the press release - of risk prevention and mitigation and the activities of overcoming direct emergencies, in particular, to the restoration of essential services, of damaged public and private structures and infrastructures, as well as to the recognition of the damages suffered by the economic and productive activities, by the cultural heritage and by the building heritage".

According to the head of the Civil Protection, Angelo Borrelli, the new agreement "represents the beginning of a path which, in the medium and long term, will lead to the definition of the methods of collaboration in the various areas of our interest and will allow us to make use of Invitalia, support of the programmatic lines and intervention strategies implemented by the Department, both in ordinary and in the management of the various and delicate emergency phases".

For Domenico Arcuri, managing director of Invitalia, the agreement is “further confirmation of the role that Invitalia plays on a daily basis in support of the Public Administration and the Government. As already done on other occasions, and in particular for Emilia Romagna and Central Italy, the Agency has shown that it knows how to operate with transparency and effectiveness, respecting deadlines and thus meeting the needs of citizens who have been affected by dramatic events. The protocol signed today will intervene both in the forecasting and prevention phase and in the emergency management phase".
