It's not exactly a robo-advisor, because it doesn't replace the relationship between client and consultant, but Alfabeto, the digital advisory platform launched in 2016 by Fideuram, the private banking division of the Intesa Sanpaolo group, is a "new relational paradigm in private investment advice", as defined by the bank itself.
Developed entirely in-house a year and a half ago, Alfabeto is not a simple IT platform, nor an algorithm that replaces the relationship between client and consultant, but a real relationship channel that opens up new meeting opportunities for the client, even virtual to manage your investments more effectively. And which is convincing customers, not just the younger ones accustomed to technological tools: as of 30 September this year over 2.300 registered financial advisors and private bankers, 53 customers served (out of the 600 total of Fideuram) and more than 10.200 apps downloaded on mobile.
Alphabet it is above all an advantage for the consultant: allows him to improve the service, the timeliness of response and his ability to serve a greater number of customers. Who have at their disposal a digital, flexible and easily accessible tool to manage their assets. But without losing human contact with your banker.
“Fideuram started from two assumptions – explain the bank -: on the one hand there is the relationship between client and advisor, which remains the essential and personal factor in the context of financial advice, on the other the need for flexible, rapid and easily accessible. Alphabet reconciles digitization and personalization of the report, providing maximum support to the customer and his financial advisor, on all those occasions in which a physical meeting is not possible".
But how does Alphabet work? Through the platform the customer accesses public information areas and reserved contents, shared by your advisor; it also has access to all the features that allow you to keep your investments under control. He can then examine reports, documentation on his investments, proposals received and reports on meetings (in person or virtual) with his advisor, his overall financial position, with graphs and portfolio mix reports, investment trends and detailed reports , down to the single product.
This "digital office" allows the consultant and the client to share information even remotely, communicate via chat or video call, and even to take advantage of innovative co-browsing functions to navigate statements, financial portfolios and investment proposals together, up to their approval via electronic signature.
