Primaries, Vendola-Renzi clash

Having overcome the rock (and what a rock!) of the Pd's national assembly, the electoral campaign for the center-left primaries immediately came to life with a question and answer between Vendola and Renzi, and with Bersani putting a few dots on the i's, regarding the absence of the mayor of Florence from last Saturday's meeting. In short, this time it will be real primaries.

The attack of the leader of Sel on the scrapping mayor is in no uncertain terms: “If there is something to scrap – Vendola explains – this is liberalism, defeated in Europe, and to which Renzi entrusts his strategy“. Replication of mayor"I do things on the left and I have done them; I want the left that wins and I don't do like others who are content to participate". BersaniMeanwhile, he does not hide his satisfaction with how things went on Saturday and replies to Renzi, who had said he trusted the secretary: "I would like him to trust the Democratic Party above all". With an explicit reference to theabsence from the national assembly, of which, he recalls, "he is a part".

Now the rules that emerged in the form of a draft from Saturday's meeting of the Democratic Party will be submitted to the scrutiny of the other centre-left forces: to the PSI and to Sel, not to the API because, as Bersani recalled, Tabacci competes as an authoritative personality of the centre- left. But in the meantime the Pd is still open discussion on how to proceed with the renewal also in the formation of lists. And here there is the question of the three mandates, beyond which (except for exceptions) the parliamentarians of the Democratic Party cannot be re-presented.

First of all, it must be said that, on the basis of an agenda approved in a previous national assembly, the three mandates should be understood as "full": in practice fifteen years of parliamentary activity. But even with this broad interpretation some authoritative executives such as Bindi, D'Alema and Veltroni would not be saved. An open and extremely delicate question because many think that Bersani wants to get ahead of Renzi on the renewal. In short, it could be the secretary himself, during the campaign for the primaries, who gives strong signals on the fact that this time the exceptions (if there are any) will be very few.

If there was no psychodrama announced by many at the national assembly of the Democratic Party, the same cannot be said of a PDL now in full chaos. Silvio Berlusconi for the moment has left his shack and puppets to go to Russia to celebrate his friend Vladimir Putin. All while the circle of his closest collaborators ("Il Giornale" in the lead) invite him to scrap the PDL or even to leave it to do something else. And at this point, it's not just the former ANs who show their bewilderment at the behavior of the former prime minister. Even a man of great political experience and considered a loyalist of the boss like Fabrizio Cicchitto takes it out on those who "shoot at the headquarters".

Meanwhile, the Lega is back on the scene in Venice. And the green shirts that seemed to have been set aside by the new course are back. Bossi also returns, to whom the secretary Roberto Maroni allows to give a short speech. Meanwhile, he, the secretary of the brooms, calls for civil disobedience, for tax protests with the cry of "Via Equitalia dal Nord". And of course the attacks on the Monti government are very harsh, which also take the form of excluding any alliance with the PDL, because it supports the caretaker government. It's an election campaign for everyone.
