US Democratic primaries: Biden wins in 8 states, Sanders in California

Sensational comeback by Biden, who is back in the running for the presidential nomination – Disaster for Warren and above all for Bloomberg who announces his retirement

US Democratic primaries: Biden wins in 8 states, Sanders in California

Joe Biden great winner of Super Tuesday. If Bernie Sanders won California, Biden can console himself with a comeback that is not at all obvious, winning in eight states, including Texas. Thus ends the "Super Tuesday" of the US democratic primaries, in which 1.357 delegates are assigned in view of the goal of 1.991: a fundamental stage, in short, to decide who will be Donald Trump's challenger in the presidential elections on November 3rd.

The two ground states are Texas (228 seats) and California (415). In addition to the most powerful democratic stronghold, Sanders conquered his state too – the Vermont - the Colorado and Utah. Biden instead he imposed himself in Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Arkansas e Massachusetts.

The billionaire Michael Bloomberg took home only American Samoa, a US protectorate in the Pacific Ocean. A disappointing result to say the least, to the point that the former mayor of New York has announced his withdrawal and has made it known that he will support Biden.

The Senator from Massachusetts is also bad Elizabeth Warren, which managed to exceed the 15% ceiling only in his home state, Maine and Utah. The irony of Trump once again struck her, who conquered Maine, Texas, Colorado, Arkansas and Minnesota in the Republican primaries: “Elisabeth Pochaontas – writes the President – together with Mini-Mike Bloomberg is the biggest loser of the night: she didn't even come close to winning even in her home state of Massachusetts.

Trump's judgment is also harsh on his former friend Bloomberg: “He threw away 700 million dollars for nothing. The only things he has achieved are the nickname 'Mini-Mike' and the total destruction of his reputation”.

Now the appointment is for Tuesday 10, when the Democratic primaries are held in Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri and Washington. After that, the 17 it will be the turn of Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio.
