Primaries of Culture, 15 points to vote online

FAI launches the primaries of culture, a large popular consultation with the aim of promoting and enhancing concrete solutions for culture, the environment and the landscape you can choose three.

Primaries of Culture, 15 points to vote online

The initiative was promoted by a group of young FAI Italian Environment Fund and it takes its cue from the fact that on 24 and 25 January the Italians will have to express themselves in the elections with the electoral law (porcellum) which prevents them from choosing deputies and senators. This is why if it is not possible to choose the candidates, it becomes important to at least choose the ideas because culture too can and must become a full part of the themes of the next electoral campaign to enhance this great heritage.

From our website Primaries of Culture after registering you can vote by choosing the most heartfelt themes, there are fifteen and you can choose three.

The chosen virtual judges are five famous and very illustrious personalities: Giotto, Leonardo da Vinci, Dante Alighieri, Giuseppe Verdi, Federico Fellini, who come back into play for the various and respective arts, to redeem Italian culture.
To date, the online results are surprising, around 38 votes, a great demonstration that confirms that Culture is truly a great resource and that it must be considered as such precisely for the future development of our country. Here are the updated statistics of the choices voted for.

Below are the treated areas put to the vote:

1. Not 1 less: minimum 1% share of public money for culture.
Because we eat with culture: increase in public funding for the maintenance of the historical and artistic heritage and for cultural activities in line with what happens in the major European countries to encourage the resulting cultural tourism.

2. Whoever touches the ground dies: stop consuming the landscape.
To stop soil consumption: revision of the laws that protect the landscape, imposition of limits on soil consumption also for non-agricultural areas and worsening of the sanctions against unauthorized building.

3. I will not destroy: certain plans for the security of the territory.
To combat environmental disasters: a national strategy against hydrogeological instability to secure territories. The protection of territories requires measures that favor the valorisation of agricultural landscapes and their productive vocation, also effective against hydrogeological risks.

4. I center: defend the historic centers.
To stop the abandonment of historic centres: tax incentives and bureaucratic simplifications for the opening of craft, accommodation and commercial businesses in keeping with the architectural vocation of the places and greater tax relief for those who live and renovate their homes in a historic center .

5. No more «read tips»: three-year plans for cultural resources.
For music, theatre, cinema, dance: three-year programming and certainty of public resources in favor of cultural activities established with evaluation criteria also shared with local authorities.

6. Agri-culture: more work and well-being at zero km.
Agriculture: if we stopped importing food products from abroad, Italy would have a survival capacity of only three months. Incentives to agriculture as a source of food, work, care of the landscape and territory with innovative criteria by developing zero-kilometre agriculture. The oldest job in the world on which the future vocation of our country depends a lot.

7. Law for the third sector operating in the cultural heritage.
Because together we are stronger: recognition of the third sector and private individuals as fundamental interlocutors for the enhancement, management and promotion of the historical, artistic and naturalistic heritage.

8. No profit, no taxes: incentives for those who work in cultural heritage. To be more European: reduction of indirect taxes for non-profit organizations that operate in the conservation and management of cultural heritage and tax incentives for private donations.

9. I'm starting from three (hours): more art history at school.
Because one hour a week is not enough to stop ignorance: triple the teaching hours of Art History in all high schools.

10. I remember, yes, I remember: let's save libraries.
So that the memory of what we were not lost: the reorganization of libraries and archives and their digitization to ensure their survival and consultation in the future also through the use of new technologies.

11. Mibac 2.0 project.
For a more efficient and modern state: adapt cultural and protection policies and the professionalism necessary to implement them to allow the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities to play a more incisive and current role.

12. More start-ups for everyone: real concessions for young people.
Because culture is an opportunity: from the recovery of tax evasion, a fund to encourage the start-up of initiatives entrusted to cooperatives of young people who want to compete with the management and protection of cultural assets and activities by offering them tax deductions as they should be offered to all individuals who wish to support culture in all its manifestations.

13. Less Italialand, more Italy: integrated policies for tourism.
Why do we go backwards as a presence in tourism when we have the most beautiful country in the world? Was Italy right to abolish the Ministry of Tourism by attributing competences on the matter to the Regions?

14. Restoration, stay with us: protecting quality craftsmanship.
We are still the best: in restoration, in quality craftsmanship, in the conservation of art assets. Strengthen investments in training and promotion of skills that are the pride of our country.

15. Right to study, duty to finance it.
Training: support for creativity as a new frontier? What training will be needed in the future, how to support the best in each discipline by avoiding their flight abroad?
