Single gas price: while Europe is discussing, in Italy Energetica Spa is investing in Valle d'Aosta

The war put the gas system in crisis, but despite the sanctions on Russia and the debate on a single gas price is being planned by those planning new investments. Energetica Spa – a company that manages the transport and distribution of methane gas in the Municipalities of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta – has obtained a bond loan of 5 million euro to boost your business. The investments will be made above all in Valle d'Aosta with the expansion of the district heating service as well. The loan was underwritten by Anthilia Capital Partner who continued to place their trust in the Group led by Andrea Crimes. The operation of these days follows, in fact, the subscription of two bonds by the Anthilia funds for a total of 10,4 million euros with expiry in 2026.

In detail, the 5 million euro for the new infrastructures were subscribed for 2,5 million by the Anthilia BIT III fund, 1,25 million by Anthilia Eltif Economia Reale Italia and 1,25 million by 8a+ Real Italy Eltif. Financial support is rated as low-risk, where gas tariffs are skyrocketing and the government is continually studying bill relief measures. The goals to be achieved for renewables, as current events tell us, need the coexistence of sources in the transitional period. On the other hand, renewables do not always and everywhere arrive easily.

Single gas price: investor confidence

Basically, the complicated situation of gas supplies from Russia does not seem to discourage the Company's programme. The investment plan includes theextension of the methane gas transport networks in Valle d'Aosta and the installation of new infrastructures for the production and distribution of district heating in the Bardonecchia area. The Group founded in 1981 is a consolidated industrial reality in the regulated tariff sector. Its Energie Reti gas manages regional methane pipelines and the service in 15 municipalities in the province of Cuneo and Savona. In 2021, despite the first signs of an increase in the price of gas, Energetica has recorded a production value of 24,8 million euros and an EBITDA of 9,3 million.

Regarding the new loan, Reati confirms the collaboration with Anthilia for "the credibility of the activity carried out by the group and the sustainability of its development plan" and that faced with a constantly changing context, "the consolidation of professional relationships assumes a strategic role for enhance the relationship between finance and business”. But while Europe is discussing whether, how and when to establish a standard gas price, Anthilia Capital Partners is studying and trusting the market. “Analyzing the reference market – he says Barbara Ellero, manager of Anthilia – we see many opportunities for expansion of the pipeline networks and we believe that Energetica, thanks also to the high experience and know-how of the management, can achieve excellent results”.
