Bad news for Italian smokers. Since 18 February 2020 cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos cost more. The Customs and Monopolies agency has increased the price of tobacco with a provision, no. 55291, dated February 17. A decision that affects some of the most popular brands: Philip Morris, Marlboro, Merit, Multifilter (all owned by the same holding) Muratti, Chesterfield and so on.
Price hikes have been in the air for some time. It was there that established them a few months ago Maneuver 2020. With the provision of February, the Customs and Monopolies Agency has therefore adapted to the new legislation by making known the new prices on tobacco applied to the public.
CIGARETTES: HERE ARE THE INCREASES
The increases, let's say it right away, are not insignificant. It ranges from 5 to 10 cents per kilo. A 20-piece pack of cigarettes can therefore cost between 10 and 20 cents more than it did a few days ago. Furthermore, it is not certain that the brands that were excluded from the price increases that started on February 18 will not undergo price changes in the coming months.
Also shredded tobacco, cigars and cigarillos (also known by the Spanish name of cigarillos, i.e. small cigars wrapped in dry tobacco leaves) have undergone significant price increases.
THE NEW PRICES OF CIGARETTES, BRAND BY BRAND
In this list we propose, one by one, the cigarette brands that have undergone price increases and the new prices applied by tobacconists. As mentioned, compared to prices established in 2019 (e in 2018) it is necessary to calculate an increase of 10/20 cents on each package.

from 5,70 they went to 5,90 so 20 cents!
