The average price of motor liability insurance is falling again in Italy. According to the latest data communicated by IVASS, in the fourth quarter of last year the average cost of policies decreased by 0,8% compared to the previous quarter and by 0,6% on an annual basis. The average premium thus settled at 417 euros, but be careful, because the average hides very different values within itself: 50% of policyholders, in fact, pay less than 375 euros.
"The variability of premiums among policyholders - explains the insurance supervisory institute - shows signs of decline compared to the third quarter of 2017, although the trend of price dispersion tends to increase".
The growth trend of telematic policies continues, in deceleration: 20,5% of contracts stipulated in the fourth quarter of 2017 contain premium reduction clauses linked to the black box.
