Corruption prevention, Poste first to have the "sticker"

Poste Italiane is the first company in the finance and communications sectors, among those operating in Italy, to obtain the IMQ-CSQ certification of the management system for the prevention of corruption. The company communicates it, with a note, explaining that "the certification, issued according to the international standard ISO 37001:2016 Anti Bribery Management System, was obtained for the design, direction, control and coordination processes of the Postal and Financial Services".

“This important result – comments the corporate affairs manager, Giuseppe Lasco – is the most recent milestone in a process that has always paid great attention to the issues of legality and transparency, principles considered by Poste Italiane to be fundamental for the sustainable and ethical development of its business and of the country system as a whole. It does not represent a point of arrival but the first milestone of a path that will allow our company to expand the range of certifications obtained and extend it to all areas of business operations throughout the country".

Among the stages of this process, Poste remembers in particular the signing in 2017 of the memorandum of understanding between Poste Italiane and the Guardia di Finanza, with the aim of combating economic and financial crime and the launch, in the same year, of the Open and Transparent Contracts portal, which makes all the data relating to its supply chain public. In 2018, the new Code of Ethics was approved and the Whistleblowing reporting portal was launched, through which it is possible to send, with the maximum guarantee of confidentiality of the identity of the whistleblower and the content of the report, detailed news of illegal phenomena and suspicious behavior .

Finally, in December 2018, with the first release of the ISO 37001 Certification for management systems for the prevention of corruption, Poste Italiane adds a further step to the series of goals and accreditations already obtained, confirming the company's responsible commitment and attention to legality, transparency and efficiency. “The application of the ISO 37001 standard helps to reduce the risk of corruption and shows to all interested parties that the organization is implementing internationally recognized good practices for the prevention of corruption – comments the business unit director IMQ Management Systems, Flavio Ornago -. Poste Italiane, by committing itself to obtaining a voluntary type of certification, aimed at reducing these risks, has demonstrated its extreme responsibility towards the market and in general towards all stakeholders”.
