La IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division di Intesa Sanpaolo has chosen Rome to conclude the Obiettivo Italia 2024 initiative, a path dedicated to the meeting between key figures of the Bank with exponents and top managers of the business world and national public.
The two main purposes of Italy Goal 2024:
- explore extremely topical financial issues, such as the twin transition (green and digital), investment support and the offer of innovative services for the management of financial risks and liquidity;
- provide a concrete response to customers with respect to the multiple exogenous factors that are influencing the competitive arena (such as market uncertainty and the challenging geopolitical context).
Le stages 2024 they have developed throughout the year to give continuity to the initiative and dialogue with customers, touching various locations at the epicentre of the country's economic fabric, and then concluding in the Capital.
In particular, theevent held in Rome predicted:
- Opening of the proceedings by Michele Sorrentino, Head of IMI CIB Italian Network Intesa Sanpaolo;
- “The macroeconomic scenario. The role of investments to relaunch growth”, edited by Giovanni Foresti, Head of Region Research Intesa Sanpaolo;
- “The frontiers of digital: market trends and scenarios” by Stefano Favale, Head of Global Transaction Banking, IMI CIB Division Intesa Sanpaolo;
- “ESG Framework: regulations, risks and opportunities for companies” by Delia Miceli, ESG Advisory, IMI CIB Division Intesa Sanpaolo;
- “Sustainable risk management and liquidity investment strategies” by Paolo Piccinini, Head of Capital & Investment Solutions, IMI CIB Division Intesa Sanpaolo.
Rome not only offers a fertile environment for innovation and collaboration, but also serves as a global showcase for ideas, allowing for the creation of virtuous collaborative relationships with institutions and strengthening the ties of public-private partnerships, an increasingly important element for supporting the accelerated and sustainable development of our modern economies.
Given the success achieved, Obiettivo Italia will be replicated in 2025 with the aim of constantly deepening business issues, further strengthening the proximity of the IMI CIB Division and its Italian Network to the needs of customers.
The continuity of the project testifies to how the IMI CIB Division Strategy is aimed at consolidating and strengthening the partnership with Italian champions operating in the various production sectors, supporting them in their development and transition plans, essential elements for a strengthened competitiveness of our industrial fabric. Intesa Sanpaolo supports Italian businesses also abroad thanks to the international network of the IMI CIB Division present in 25 countries and the controlled banks operating in commercial banking in 12 countries in Central-Eastern Europe and in the Middle East and North Africa.
Support for PNRR investments to relaunch the Italian production system
Recent crises have confirmed that for support business investments new technical-specialist risk management tools are needed, also in a public-private partnership logic. The Intesa Sanpaolo Group is a supporter of the acceleration of the numerous projects related to large public recovery plans (e.g. NextGenerationEU/REPowerEU), to better support the countless challenges related to the twin transition.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group has committed to providing, in addition to the public funds of the PNRR, approximately 410 billion euros of financing for the Italian economy by 2026, of which 270 for businesses. In particular, to support a sustainable transition, between 2021 and the first nine months of 2024 approximately 62,7 billion euros of the 76 billion in new available credit dedicated to the green economy, the circular economy and the ecological transition were disbursed.
To achieve these strategic objectives and ensure the growth of the country, the Group believes it is essential to:
- support investments in the Italian supply chain, to ensure the maximization of benefits for our companies and to offer attractive opportunities for international financial investors;
- underline the importance that sustainability metrics will increasingly have for the attractiveness of projects and for recognizing the return on capital;
- explore solutions for hedging financial risks and managing liquidity, including with innovative products dedicated to the specific needs of customers.
Italy Goal 2024 presented to customers all the know-how and expertise of the specialists of the IMI CIB Division, in order to be able to delve into topics of pressing current interest, strongly connected with the development of their business in the future.
In support of the real economy, leveraging the solidity of the major system champions, Intesa Sanpaolo makes available the Sviluppo Filiere Program. Large companies can thus offer benefits to their strategic suppliers, including improved credit ratings and faster access to financing, even in the current context of re-shoring following the recent crises.
The distribution platform & Gtb coordination area
La IMI CIB Division – led by Mauro Micillo – is continuing a path started some time ago with customers aimed at efficient management of capital and risks, supporting our customers who compete every day in increasingly competitive and international markets.
In this regard it was Distribution Platforms & Gtb Coordination Area established, under the responsibility of Nicola Doninelli, which unites the Italian and International Network and the distribution capabilities of the Division. This Coordination Area has, in particular, the mission of guiding the development of the digital channels of the IMI CIB Division for the distribution of a broad and innovative range of products for its customers and for the Intesa Sanpaolo Group and ensuring the coverage of a wide range of transactional services for the management of working capital and corporate treasury for Corporate and Institutional customers operating on the domestic and international market.
Inside theArea Distribution Platforms & Gtb, the Italian Network, led by Michele Sorrentino, coordinates business activities distributed across 6 Regions, with 15 Corporate Centers located in the main cities of our country, following over 2.100 Groups with approximately 400 professionals working in the various territorial offices, of which approximately 40 in Rome alone.
I colleghi present in the territory were the real drivers of the 2024 edition of Obiettivo Italia: thanks to their daily work and constant proximity to customers, they made it possible to create 6 stages that saw the participation of over 250 companies.
The Lazio Region was the protagonist of the Rome stage: in this part of the territory more than 30% of the revenues are developed, while at the same time guaranteeing employment for over 26 billion euros in favor of customers.
