Flavio Cattaneo (Enel CEO) and Giorgia Meloni on a mission to the Emirates: summit on energy and strategic cooperation

The CEO of Enel, Flavio Cattaneo, is today at Abu Dhabi, together with the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, for the opening ceremony of the Sustainability Week 2025, the major event that for over fifteen years has promoted interaction between countries and the main local players in the field of sustainable development.

Energy represents one of the main chapters of cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Italy and, in this context, Enel – the only Italian energy company present – is at its summit, bringing its know-how and experience as a world leader in renewable energy and energy transition with a presence in 28 countries around the world.

Confirming the excellent relations between the Italian Electricity Group and the main local companies, Enel completed a last December industrial partnership long-term from 1,7 billion euros with masdar, Abu Dhabi-based company leader in green energy in the United Arab Emirates for the Renewable energy development in Spain through Endesa, a company controlled by Enel. Possible new collaborations between Enel and Masdar in the future, always in the field of renewable energy, are not excluded.

The visit to Abu Dhabi once again shows the crucial role of large companies in the foreign policy of the Government, and in particular of Enel, which in recent months has intensified its international relations in various strategic areas of the world. In continuity with the spirit of the Mattei plan and in the wake of the G7 experience in Puglia, the Country System consolidates the virtuous alliance between institutions and large industrial groups, especially those active in fundamental areas such as energy, to increase the country's international projection.
