Following the disappearance of the Holy Father and in anticipation of the increase in pilgrims heading to Rome, the FS Group has prepared an extraordinary plan to respond to the exceptional needs of mobility, ensuring an efficient, safe and inclusive service on the occasion of the celebrations.
FS Italiane, with Trenitalia, has strengthened the offer of long-distance rail connections and to airports, in collaboration with the Civil protection which coordinates the emergency and logistical interventions necessary to welcome the faithful. The extraordinary and assistance offer – already foreseen on the occasion of the Jubilee events – will be active for the entire duration of the celebrations. Coordination is also active with Busitalia for the activation of charter services and intermodality solutions useful for facilitating connections to the stations.
Through Italian Railway Network, FS will set up extraordinary guards in the stations Rome Termini, Tiburtine, Ostiense, San Pietro, Aurelia Valley, Fiumicino e Civitavecchia. These facilities will guarantee the safety and reliability of the railway service, ensuring an orderly management of flows and a timely response to the needs of travellers.
The free service Blue room, dedicated to assisting people with reduced mobility, will be strengthened to offer effective and timely support to travellers.
