Intesa Sanpaolo, through the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, intervened as co-advisor of the Enel Group for the agreement of partnership signed with Masdar for the management of photovoltaic systems in Spain.
The agreement involves Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) acquiring a minority stake in EGPE Solar, a vehicle that holds the current portfolio of photovoltaic plants of Endesa (a subsidiary of Enel and one of the main electricity companies in Spain and Portugal) already operational, for a consideration of €817 million.
The transaction will allow Enel to maintain control of EGPE Solar, maximizing productivity and returns on invested capital.
With this operation, Intesa Sanpaolo, led by CEO Carlo Messina, places its experience in extraordinary corporate finance operations, its extensive knowledge of financial markets and international industrial realities at the service of companies.
