North East Foundation 2022 report: the future is passing, who is ready and who is not

Fondazione Nord Est presents the 2022 report on Monday 11 July starting at 9.30 in the Cesare De Michelis auditorium of the M9 Museum in Mestre (VE).

The 2022 report is marked by a twofold change of perspective. No more observation and interpretation of northeastern deeds. He but the analysis of what happens and will happen in the world, on the fronts of the economy, society, the environment, demography and technologies. To stimulate and help the local area to think about the ongoing and foreseeable changes and be ready to seize the opportunities, rather than suffer the consequences.

The same geographical definition of North East has changed, brought back to the institutional perimeter, which embraces not only the Triveneto but also Emilia-Romagna. The new definition is consistent with the new mission and with the intent to join forces and efforts of the four regions. Starting this year, Fondazione Nord Est broadens the boundaries of its analyzes and reflections, adding a dash to North East, which then becomes North-east. The enlargement is also expressed in the involvement, as authors of the Report, of scholars and analysts who work in the Emilia-Romagna territories.

The report questions possible futures and illustrates the tools to grasp the signs of changes. In the background a question: how to restart the Northeast locomotive? And to where?

After the greetings of the President of the Nord Est Foundation, Giuseppe Bono, the scientific director, Luca Paolazzi, Gianluca Toschi (senior researcher of the Foundation), Isabella Pierantoni, sociologist, futurist and founder of Generation Mover, alternated on stage with a report on the Future and work, the new rules of the multi-generational society, Lorenzo Ciapetti, director and scientific director of Antares, research center for industrial policies, who talks about the role of manufacturing in the new global complexity, and Fabio Storchi, FINREGG President, who talks about the factory future.

Enrico Carraro, President of Confindustria Veneto, closed the meeting.

Rational intelligence is not enough to think about the future. Because before understanding it is necessary to perceive, to feel the tomorrow that comes. This is why the presentation is conceived as contamination and an important role is played by art, in all its expressions. Therefore the poet Lorenzo Mullon and the actor Mirko Artuso will participate in the presentation.
