International Biennial Art Award of Asolo from 10 May 2014

From 10 May to 15 June 2014 Asolo, in the province of Treviso, will host the third edition of the Biennale d'Arte International Prize - The competition includes four sections of painting, graphics, sculpture and installation, photography, and has a prize pool of 35.000 euros.

International Biennial Art Award of Asolo from 10 May 2014

The third edition of the Biennale d'Arte International Prize will be held in Asolo (TV), from 10 May to 15 June 2014. The competition, with registration deadline 28 February, includes four sections of painting, graphics, sculpture and installation, photography, and a prize fund of 35.000 euros.

In addition to cash prizes, there are new opportunities for this edition, such as participation, for the winners, in the Cheongju International Craft Biennial (Seoul), partner of the Biennale, and the publication of the works in the Catalog of Modern Art (Editorial Giorgio Mondadori). Other awards include the exhibition in the offices of the Italian Cultural Institutes in Prague, Helsinki and Sidney; Purchase rewards made available by companies; the Audience Award which will allow direct access to the final selection; a Lifetime Achievement Award, assigned to one of the masters of Italian contemporary art invited to the event.

The jury, chaired for the first time by prof. John Faccenda, will evaluate with two selections the finalist artists, up to 200, who will exhibit in the historic center of Asolo, the city from a hundred horizons and one of the most evocative villages in Italy, where over the centuries the former Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro, the divine of international theater Eleonora Duse, the explorer, writer and photographer Freya Stark, and many artists and intellectuals, such as l the humanist Pietro Bembo the poet Robert Browning, the composer Gian Francesco Malipero.

The most innovative results of the contemporary world are therefore called to dialogue with history, in a context with a high rate of productivity and creativity, such as that of the economic district of the Veneto foothills, and with an international reach, given the partnership with the Cheongju Biennial (Korea) and the participation of numerous foreign artists.

Among the side events to the Award, we also note the forum dedicated to the new horizons of collecting and the market in art and design, with the intervention of cultural representatives of Eastern countries (May 11) and the traditional exhibition hosted at the Civic Museum this year dedicated to ten great masters of contemporary painting.

The Asolo Biennial International Art Prize is conceived and organized by Ithaca Investments of Art in collaboration with the Municipality and the Civic Museum of Asolo.
