Pramac, a company listed on Piazza Affari and active in the worldwide production of generator sets, has signed a framework agreement with the Agro Verde Cooperative for the construction of the photovoltaic agro-energy hub in Gela (Caltanissetta). The value of the order amounts to 280 million euros. The project was presented today in Verona on the occasion of the Italo-Russian Forum on innovation and envisages the possibility of associating the vegetable garden-greenhouse activity of the Agro Verde Cooperative with the production of energy from renewable sources.
The procedure will be possible thanks to the use of photovoltaic panels integrated in greenhouses. Pramac will carry out the entire project and supply the thin film photovoltaic modules for a total power of approximately 80 megawatts. The agro-energy pole will be built on an area not affected by landscape protection constraints and a recovery of the perimeter areas of the plant is also planned, which will be harmonized in the more general context of the surrounding landscape.
