PostePay and Bancomat expand collaboration for digital development

Postepay and Bancomat have expanded their collaboration aimed at activating the "issuing" license in the Bancomat and PagoBancomat area. The new license adds to the already operational one valid for the acceptance of the aforesaid cards by post offices, Postamat ATMs, as well as shops having an agreement with Postepay.

The Initiative also plans to accelerate the adoption in Italy of "co-badge" cards and Apps for payment transactions, so as to expand the diffusion and acceptance of payments and withdrawals, both by card and digitally. “In fact, considering the strong and progressive acceleration of digital payments, Bancomat and PostePay intend expand the types of services available and their operating methods available to their customers even in digital contexts”, announce the two companies in a joint note.

For this reason, we read, the collaboration will be further expanded through PostePay's implementation of the ATM Pay service, in order to offer customers additional methods of digital payment and P2P money exchange via the App.

ATM CEO, Alessandro Zollo explains that "Thanks to this initiative, Bancomat will be able to continue its growth path as a strategic Italian infrastructure and contribute in an even more decisive way, together with the partner banks and the Poste Italiane Group, to the acceleration of the diffusion of electronic payments in Italy and in Europe and the digitization and modernization of the country.

The CEO of PostePay, Marcus of Syracuse adds that the company "intends - in the near future - to make operational use of the License also as an issuer, for carrying out the issuance and placement of cards and apps enabled to operate on the Bancomat, PagoBancomat and Bancomat Pay circuits".
