Poste, go to financial education in offices

Poste Italiane kicks off the financial education project in post offices. A national program in the name of inclusion and sustainability policies with the aim of helping to improve citizens' skills in economic and financial matters and increase their awareness in saving, investing and knowledge choices about new financial instruments in the digital age .

The calendar of meetings with experts opens today, Thursday 16 May, in Rome in the post office in via Marmorata. In the first phase of the project, which will take place between May and June, another seven seminars are planned, two of which in Rome and one each in Naples, Palermo, Turin, Bologna and Treviso. Each event includes three days of educational sessions lasting 30 minutes each. Macroeconomics and finance issues aimed at giving citizens the right support in responsible savings and investment choices were at the center of the interventions of Poste Italiane's financial experts.

The initiative is open to everyone and takes its cue from the studies of many international and national institutions (OECD, Bank of Italy, Consob, Censis, S&P Global financial literacy survey) which report a deficit of knowledge of Italians in financial matters compared to other countries, with the indicators Italy between the last and penultimate place among the G20 countries.
In this context, Poste Italiane has decided to offer its competent contribution within the strategies developed by the Financial Education Committee, set up in August 2017 by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance with the aim of «promoting and coordinate initiatives useful for raising financial, insurance and social security knowledge and skills among the population and improve everyone's ability to make choices consistent with their own objectives and conditions".

The Financial Education project therefore moves under the sign of Poste Italiane's attention to the needs of the citizen and in line with its historic vocation as a socially responsible company that adheres to international ESG principles, promoted by the United Nations Organization.
