Poste Italiane closes the first semester with a net profit of 773 million euros, up by 41,8% on an annual basis. In the second quarter alone, consolidated net profit rose by 36,4%, to 326 million. After the publication of the data, by mid-morning the group's share on the Stock Exchange was up 1%, to 11,24 euros.

In the first semester, i revenues group shares rose by 14% over the year, to 5,684 billion, and in the second quarter alone they accelerated by 18,7%, to 2,751 billion. From an operational point of view, the ebit it rose by 37,1% in the first six months, to 1,049 billion (+32% in the second quarter, to 429 million).

“Our diversified business model continues to deliver strong financial results,” comments the CEO, Matthew Del Fante.

In the second quarter the revenues of the sector mail, parcels and distribution they increased by 29,8% compared to the same period of 2020, to 909 million (+24,1% year on year) and reached 1,826 billion in the first half of the year.

Revenue from correspondence they increased in the second quarter by 25,7%, to 512 million, while for the first six months the increase was 10,5%.

Segment revenue financial services they increased in the second quarter by 2,1%, to 1,1 billion, but fell by 1,2% in the first half, to 2,4 billion. In the second quarter, gross revenues (including revenues from distribution) increased by 5,6%, to 1,3 billion (+2% in the first half, to 2,8 billion).

The turnover of the sector insurance increased by 43,9% in the second quarter, to €552 million (+42% in the first half, to €XNUMX billion), driven by higher volumes and multi-line products with higher margins.

As for segment revenue payments and mobile, grew by 20%, to 207 million in the second quarter (+18,3% in the half year, to 399 million).
