Postal services, the increase for parcels and registered mail will start from 24 July: here's how much shipments will cost

Snap theincrease of the prices also for Poste Italiane. From Monday 24 July will start a series of price increases for all postal services: including Postal mail, but also priority e recommended. The average increase is 6,75% and was authorized by the Agcom (Communication Guarantee Authority" with a resolution of 27 June. A green light to allow Poste Italiane "to recover from the inflation recorded in the second half of 2022 and in the first half of 2023, in order to pursue the correspondence of universal service tariffs with the underlying production costs", reads the resolution. But let's see Poste's new price list in detail.

Poste, the increase for postal services is triggered: the new price list

The group, in one note, lists the rate changes for the following services:

• The rates of Mail1 (Retail) will be increased in all weight and format ranges. In particular, the rate for items weighing up to 100 grams, in small and medium format, will vary from €2,80 to €2,90;

• The rates of Mail1 Pro will be increased in all weight and format ranges. In particular, the rate for items up to 100 grams, in small and medium format, will vary from €2,10 to €2,25. This increase will also be applied to the national Posta1online delivery rates;

• The rates of Mail4 (Retail) will be increased in all weight and format ranges. In particular, the rate for items weighing up to 20 grams in small standard format will vary from €1,20 to €1,25;

• The rates of Mail4 Pro will be increased in all weight and format brackets. In particular, the rate for items weighing up to 20 grams in small standard format will vary from €0,95 to €1,02. This increase will also be applied to the national Posta4online delivery rates;

• The rates of Mass Mail will be increased in all weight ranges, destinations and homologation options. In particular, the rate for approved items up to 20 grams, destined for metropolitan areas (AM) will vary from €0,29 to €0,31

• The tariff of theNational retail receipt notice will vary from €0,95 to €1,00. This increase will have an effect, in particular, on the following services (and on the related offers): Registered Mail for Italy, Registered Judicial Mail and, where sent to the Post Office, Insured Mail for Italy, Poste Delivery Standard, Folded books with the right of recommendation;

• The tariff of theNational business acknowledgment of receipt will vary from €0,75 to €0,80. This increase will have an effect, in particular, on the following Business services (and related offers): Registered Pro, Registered Smart, Insured Smart, Insured Smart at a special rate, Folded Business Books, Poste Delivery Standard;

• The tariff of theInternational acknowledgment of receipt will vary from €1,25 to €1,30. This increase will have an effect, in particular, on the following universal services (and related offers): Poste Delivery International Standard (Post Office and Poste Delivery Web at special rates), International Registered Mail, International Insured, M-Bags Economy with recommendation right, Foreign online registered mail;

• The rates of Registered Mail (Retail) will be increased in all weight and format brackets. In particular, the rate for items up to 20 grams will vary from €5,60 to €5,80. These increases will also be applied to Judicial Registered Mail and Registered Mail by you (Retail);

• The rates of Pro Registered Mail will be increased in all weight brackets. In particular, the rate for items up to 20 grams will vary from €3,70 to €3,97. This increase will also be applied to the national Online Registered Mail delivery rates. For the Online Registered Mail service, the national business receipt notice will also vary from €0,75 to €0,80;

• The rates of Smart Registered Mail will be increased in all weight and destination brackets. In particular, the rate for items weighing up to 20 grams, destined for metropolitan areas (AM) will vary from €2,42 to €2,60;

• The rates of Insured mail will be increased in all weight brackets. In particular, the rate for items up to 20 standard grams, with an insured value of up to €50, will vary from €6,20 to €6,40;

• The rates of Smart Insured Mail will be increased in all weight brackets. In particular, the rate for items weighing up to 20 grams, with an insured value of up to €50, will vary from €5,30 to €5,69;

• The rates ofJudicial act, inclusive of the flat rate of CAN and CAD, will undergo changes in all weight ranges. The total amount due for items accepted at Post Offices up to 20 grams will vary from €10,85 to €11,45, while for items accepted at business centers (also with the bill option), including those of Integrated Notification Services, it will vary from €10,45 to €11,05. This increase will also be applied to the delivery rates for Business Online Judicial Documents;

• The rates of Folds of Books will be increased in the first weight bracket. In particular, the rate for items accepted at post offices, up to 2 kg, will vary from €1,28 to €1,35, while for items accepted at business centres, the rate for items up to 2 kg will vary from €1,2787 to €1,3490;

• The rates of Standard Delivery Post ("National Ordinary Parcel") will be increased in all weight and format ranges. In particular, the rate for consignments from 0 to 3 kg of standard format will vary from €9,40 to €9,90;

• For the product Post Delivery International Standard (“Ordinary International Parcel”) rates will be increased for all destination countries. In particular, Zone 1, up to 1 kg, will vary from €24,00 to €24,80. The amounts in the case of online pre-acceptance will also vary, in particular Zone 1, up to 1 kg, will vary from € 23,00 to € 23,80;

• The rates of Postapriority International will be increased for all formats and weight ranges and for all tariff destination zones. In particular, the rate for items in Zone 1 up to 50 grams, standardized and compact format, will vary from €3,50 to €3,60. This increase will also be applied to the delivery rates of Posta1online abroad;

• The rates of Postmail International will be increased for all formats and weight ranges and for all tariff destination zones. In particular, the rate for items in standardized format for Zone 1 up to 20 grams will vary from €1,25 to €1,30. This increase will also be applied to the delivery rates of Posta4online abroad;

• The rates of International registered mail will be increased in all weight brackets and for all tariff destination zones. In particular, the rate for items in Zone 1 up to 20 grams will vary from €7,10 to €7,35. This increase will also be applied to the delivery rates of online registered mail abroad;

• The rates of International insured will be increased in all weight brackets and for all tariff destination zones. In particular, the rate for items in Zone 1, with insured value up to €50, up to 20 grams will vary from €8,30 to €8,55

• The rates of Economy and Premium Mail will be increased for all formats and weight brackets. In particular, the rate for Economy Mail items in Zone 1 up to 20 grams, normalized format, will vary from €0,39 to €0,42. The rate for Premium Mail consignments in Zone 1 up to 20 grams, normalized format, will vary from €0,52 to €0,56;

• The rates of Economy and Premium M-bags will be increased for all formats and weight ranges. In particular, the rate for sending M-Bags Economy in Zone 1 up to 5 kg will vary from €8,26 to €8,87. The rate for sending Premium M-Bags to Zone 1 up to 5 kg will vary from €12,91 to €13,87. Furthermore, the rate of the recommendation fee applied to M-bags Economy will vary from €8,26 to €8,87.

Also the tariff of the ancillary service Domestic Universal Shipping Mark (where available) will be revised upwards from 24 July 2023 in all options (Bulletin, Money order, Postal check). In particular, the overall rate of Cash on delivery with Postal it will vary from €2,27 to €3,00; the one with money order it will vary from €10,77 to €11,00; the one with Postal check will vary from €2,58 to €2,81. Also, the Overseas delivery will vary from €2,27 to €3,00.

Furthermore, the Group explains in a note, "further interventions on the Universal Services dedicated to Business and Public Administration customers will be announced as soon as possible - with 30 days notice of the effective date".

Online recommendations are also increasing

Even online registered mail, sent directly from your computer without going to the Post Office, will have adjusted rates (national territory):

• 4,02 euros (up to 20 grams),

• 5,33 euros (over 20 grams and up to 100).

The cost of notification of traffic fines is also increasing

Notification postage also goes up sanctions to the Highway Code. According to what is specified by the association of supporters of the Traffic Police, the changes will be made in all weight brackets: the total amount due for items up to 20 grams accepted in post offices will vary from 10,85 to 11,45 euros, while for items accepted in business centres, used by the traffic police, will vary from 10,45 to 11,05 euros.
