Poste Italiane, what a shame: the computer system goes haywire again

Yet another IT system blackout paralyzes the Italian post office: offices throughout Italy are shut down – The discomfort of citizens forced into endless queues – The paradox of a public company that is unable to provide a public service – Fose it would be time to think about the privatization

Poste Italiane, what a shame: the computer system goes haywire again

It's not the first time and, it's easy to imagine, it won't be the last. For the umpteenth time, as the CISL denounces, all the post offices in Italy are haywire due to the computer operating system being blocked, and for the umpteenth time, therefore, these disservices end up creating inconveniences that are spreading like wildfire throughout the Italian territory.

The management of Poste Italiane, as always in these cases, remains silent, unlike users, forced into long (and often useless) queues and pensioners who are unable to withdraw their pension, who gather to protest against post office workers.

What remains of this grotesque story with a too ancient flavor is the juice, which unfortunately is a very serious juice, however, and terribly bitter, the sad story of a public company that too often does not know or is unable to provide a public service. And perhaps the simplest solution to these continuous inconveniences would be to privatize the post office and finally make it efficient, instead of continuing to pay (lavishly) a professional manager, a champion of political transformation, such as CEO Massimo Sarmi.
