Poste Italiane obtains the UNI ISO 26000 Certificate for social responsibility

New milestone for Poste Italiane. The company has obtained the UNI ISO 26000 Verification Certificate, the international standard for the adoption of sustainable development strategies and the promotion of virtuous choices and behaviors in the environmental, social and governance fields.

The company voluntarily submitted to the assessment, carried out by the independent body DNV GL-Business Assurance which analyzed the entire organizational perimeter of the Group, through the 7 pillars that inspire the UNI ISO 26000 guidelines: governance, human rights, working relationships and conditions, environment, good management practices, specific aspects relating to users/consumers, community involvement and development.

Uni ISO 26000 is the international reference guideline on social responsibility. The tool that allows all companies to define and evaluate actions that can contribute to sustainable development, balance stakeholder expectations and ensure compliance with current regulations (national and international), with an integrated approach applied to the entire organization and to the its value chain.

After verification, DNV GL has issued Poste Italiane a Certificate of Verification which recognizes the Company's commitment and mature awareness of the various dimensions of Corporate Social Responsibility.

In particular, the Poste Italiane Group has distinguished itself for its ability to identify and periodically review the priorities on which to concentrate, integrating them into group strategies and taking into account potential risks, but also for its ability to take into account in its strategic processes, both decision-making and operational, of the requests of all the reference stakeholders, integrating them into its own governance system. Finally, for the ability to plan and communicate the social responsibility actions undertaken in a transparent and continuous way.

The Co-General Manager of Poste Italiane, Joseph Lasco, underlined how the efforts produced by the Company have been confirmed by this important recognition, supporting the strategic role in the development of the country system.

Furthermore, Lasco stated that “the path followed in the last three years has been characterized by numerous milestones representative of the ESG vision, which have involved strategy, governance and reporting systems, and have also determined important evolutionary transformations which have allowed the Company to achieve new goals in 2019, reports for the second year in the Integrated Report".
