Poste Italiane: women and young people at the center of the new contract

The Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Orlando, to TGPoste: "New collective agreement of Poste Italiane model for the country"

Poste Italiane: women and young people at the center of the new contract

“I believe that Poste Italiane is one of the entities that has created one of the most advanced models of industrial relations, with forms of supplementary contract that also address issues such as welfare, supplementary pensions, all elements that in my opinion mark a path that must be followed from other companies as well. These are the words of the Minister of Labour, Andrea Orlando, interviewed by TGPoste, the Poste Italiane news programme, answering a question about the new collective agreement for Poste Italiane employees signed in June 2021.

Instead, as regards the numbers of the company led by Matteo Del Fante with over 120 employees, over half of whom are women and around 9 under 30, Minister Orlando focused on the measures contained in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for inclusion of women and young people: “We wanted a clause in the Pnrr which commits the companies involved in the implementation of the Plan to hire at least 30% of women and young people".

“We have introduced a fund for equal pay between genders, the necessary procedures have been notified to the European Commission to start tax relief for the hiring of under 30s and women, a range of interventions that pushes in the direction of greater employability of workers who have been largely expelled from the labor market during the pandemic,” concluded Minister Orlando.
