Poste Italiane has signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Italian Federation of Tobacconists. Under the agreement, Italian tobacconists will be able to become "PuntoPoste" thus making them part of the new network of access to eCommerce services: parcels will be able to be collected, returns delivered and prepaid or pre-franked shipments.
Furthermore, according to a note released by Poste Italiane, the agreement, in addition to providing that tobacconists can function as mail acceptance points, simplifies the methods of distribution and sale of stamps. “PuntoPoste” is the new access network to eCommerce services which allows you to collect parcels, deliver returns and make prepaid or pre-franked shipments; is made up of physical delivery points, including tobacconists, and lockers - cabinets located in different points of the city for the collection and automatic dispatch of parcels - which offer a non-stop service 24 hours a day, up to 24 days out of 7.
The PuntoPoste Network has been active since April with 287 lockers throughout the country and will expand to: 350 lockers and 200 collect points at the end of 2018 and 420 lockers and around 5.000 collect points in 2020.
